Meeting of the PAA President Andrzej Głowacki with the Director General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency

On May 30, Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Developmet (NEA OECD), William D. Magwood, IV met with the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Andrzej Głowacki in Warsaw.
Plans for cooperation between the two institutions were discussed, including the involvement of PAA experts in working groups and the NEA's training offer. In addition, Andrzej Głowacki presented regulatory challenges related to the implementation of the Polish Nuclear Power Program.
The training offer of international institutions is of particular importance to PAA due to the personnel plans of the Polish Nuclear Power Program. By 2026, the PAA intends to hire an additional 70 employees for the construction of nuclear power plants in Poland and additional people in connection with the development of new nuclear technologies, such as SMR.
The NEA's activities are based on the cooperation of national experts within 8 committees and subordinate working groups. Poland actively participates in the work of these bodies in the areas of nuclear safety, nuclear supervision, nuclear law and new reactors, among others.
