Paweł Pytlarczyk a new vice president of the National Atomic Energy Agency

The Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, handed in an appointment for a new vice president of the National Atomic Energy Agency on 7th March. The position was filled in by Paweł Pytlarczyk, a lawyer with experience in developing state policy on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the management of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.
Paweł Pytlarczyk is a civil servant with more than 25 years of experience. Between 2012 and 2024, he worked at the Department of Nuclear Energy (DEJ) in the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the Ministry of Industry. He was responsible, among other things, for the implementation of the Polish Nuclear Power Programme, policy-making issues related to the management of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel, and conducting and coordinating matters related to Poland's cooperation and participation in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In June 2021, he was appointed deputy director of the DEJ and from December 2022 served as director of this department until September 2024.
Paweł Pytlarczyk is a graduate from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University. He also completed the Study of European Integration at the National School of Public Administration and Postgraduate Studies on the Functioning of the Energy Market at the Warsaw School of Economics.
In accordance with the provisions of the Atomic Law Act, the minister in charge of climate affairs, at the request of the President of the Agency, appoints vice-presidents of the Agency, from among persons selected through an open and competitive recruitment.
