Cooperation of the National Atomic Energy Agency and the Border Guard

The National Atomic Energy Agency, together with the Polish Border Guard, conducts continues cooperation in the field of radiological protection and radiometric control of state borders.

Officers of the Border Control receive regular expert support from the PAA Radiation Emergency Center staff.

During the visit to the Border Guard Post in Gdynia, PAA representatives observed the activities of force officers at the Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) and the Gdynia Container Terminal (GCT). The Border Guard demonstrated its inspection skills with the use of specialized equipment, including stationary radiometric gates, handheld radiometric devices and vehicles equipped with mobile radiometric gates.

The PAA President Dr. Lukasz Mlynarkiewicz and Vice-President of the Agency Andrzej Glowacki met with of commander the Maritime Department of Border Guard, Counter Admiral Andrzej Prokopski, and the and Deputy Director of the Border Board of the Border Guard Headquarters Colonel Artur Zukowski.

The cooperation of the PAA and the Border Guard is based on the 'Agreement of 19 August 2015 between the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard and the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency on cooperation in the field of radiological protection'.
