Kenya
Kenya has been one of the recipient countries of Poland’s Official Development Assistance since 2011.
Polish Aid initiatives in Kenya are aimed at improving the quality of health care, particularly for mothers and children. Polish Aid helps to improve access to high-quality schooling at all levels of education, including vocational training. Polish organisations engage in activities that contribute to enhancing the capabilities of Kenyan rescue services. Our projects also help to ensure equal educational opportunities and life chances for children from groups at risk of exclusion. Polish Aid supports the development of entrepreneurship and actions aimed at increasing the productivity of micro and small enterprises. Moreover, we carry out initiatives to protect the environment, including to combat climate change.
Poland also supports Kenya through voluntary multilateral contributions to WFP Kenya that are allocated to ensure food security in refugee camps as well as through loans for initiatives to modernise the country.
Additionally, Kenya is a beneficiary of the Stefan Banach scholarship programme (till 2020 – the Ignacy Łukasiewicz scholarship programme) as well as actions under the Polish Aid volunteering programme.
