Inclusive education is an opportunity to allow children with disability to lead a normal life among their peers. For such education to be effective, both schools and teachers must adjust to the varied needs of children with disabilities. In 2017, the Partners Poland Foundation together with the Education Effect Africa began to cooperate with schools in the Mbita constituency by modernising 11 schools and providing support to 4,000 children, of which about 10% have various educational needs. The project carried out in 2019 continued these ef easier access to their classrooms. Teachers gained knowledge on optimum conditions for development of children with disabilities and methods of working with children and cooperating with their carers. They also received an inclusive education manual updated and published as part of the project. Thanks to conducted training, teachers and school management began to pay more attention to pupils with varied educational needs and changed the way they speak about disability. Acceptance of educationally challenged children has also increased, as has the awareness of needs of children with disabilities among parents. In addition, a mobile ophthalmology clinic was set up in cooperation with the Ophthalmologists for Africa Fund to test eyesight and, where necessary, provide glasses to more than 2,000 children and teachers from all 16 schools engaged in the project.

forts. Support was extended to another 5 schools with special needs units from the neighbouring Rarie- da constituency. Education support centres were established, equipped with teaching aids available to all pupils who need ex¬tra attention and/ or wish to extend their knowledge. Driveways and ramps were built in the school buildings, allowing more than 300 children
