Prime Minister: agriculture is the perfect Polish export sector, but it is, most of all, the salt of the earth

22.07.2021

”We will support Polish farmers and Polish agriculture in all possible places and at all possible manufacturing and sales phases,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to a family horticultural enterprise run by Mr Jerzy Wilczewski in Białousy, Podlaskie Voivodeship. The Prime Minister stressed that the Polish Deal for agriculture is one of the core activities of the government.

Farmers to be able to sell their products tax-free up to PLN 100,000

The Polish Deal for agriculture is a programme that will enable a number of beneficial changes for small, medium, and large agricultural holdings all over Poland.

"At every meeting that I attend, MPs from the Podlaskie Voivodeship tell me ‘Mateusz, our agriculture – agriculture in this region – is the best in Europe. Watch over our land.’ That is how we address all issues that concern the Polish Deal, the Polish Deal for agriculture,” pointed out Mateusz Morawiecki, the head of government.

An increase in agricultural fuel subsidy from PLN 100 to PLN 110 for one hectare, the Act on family agricultural holdings, possibility for farmers to sell their products all over Poland (sales up to PLN 100,000 to be tax-free) are just some of the changes to be introduced under the Polish Deal for agriculture.

Prime Minister: exporting Polish agriculture is a star that shines very brightly

“We have various sorts of holdings – small, medium, large, cattle breeding, soil cultivation. Today, we are visiting an enterprise run by Mr Wilczewski. He cultivates blueberries across 600 hectares. He is a large exporter. Exporting Polish agriculture is a star that shines very brightly. As a result, we also attract capital inflows to Poland and Polish farmers earn more money,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

”Family agricultural holdings are the apple of the Polish Deal’s eye – healthy food whose route “from the field to the table” is short,” he added.

Blueberries from the enterprise in the Podlaskie Voivodeship reach most of European countries, including Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy as well as Middle East and Far East countries. Poland is one of the world’s blueberry export leaders.

During his address, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasised that the Polish Deal will bring better opportunities for farmers. One of the key changes is to enable agricultural retail trade:

“We have increased the sales pool in agricultural retail trade from PLN 40,000 to PLN 100,000 tax-free. 0% tax for all farmers who want to try to develop on a smaller scale through local markets and more,” said the head of government.

The government focuses on Polish products. It wants citizens to have easier access to local products and farmers to have a higher profit from their work.

Prime Minister: let’s buy Polish products

”Agriculture is the perfect Polish export sector, but it is, most of all, the salt of the earth. We are grateful to Polish farmers for excellent healthy food. I am urging you to buy products from Polish farmers. When doing shopping, let us check if the products that you want to buy come from Polish agriculture,” stressed the Prime Minister.

Buying products labelled with POLISH PRODUCT is a form of support for millions of farmers and entrepreneurs. Let’s help each other and choose products that come from our fellow citizens.
