“To enable technological development, we are promoting digital safety as part of the Three Seas Initiative,” said Mateusz Morawiecki during the panel discussion. He added that, together with our partners, we are trying to build a platform for infrastructure development, and the Three Seas Initiative provides an opportunity for cooperation.

Building digital partnerships

The leaders discussed how to use trust, transparency and free flow of data to improve the reliability and desirability of trans-border infrastructure investment projects. Such actions should stimulate economic growth and strengthen international cohesion and regional safety.
“The best way to improve our economic, social and political systems is to build digital partnerships and create trans-border platforms for trust-based cooperation between their members. This form of cooperation is conducive to innovations and investments,” said the Prime Minister.
Poland supports initiatives aimed at technological cooperation.

Poland supports, among others, the idea of introducing trusted, secure and energy-saving cloud-based solutions for business and administration. Companies should be encouraged to open their data resources, to share them and to build their value through expansion of the entire ecosystem in which they operate.

“As a community of democratic states, we should seriously work on creating new standards for data sharing. This will help us improve our internal procedures with respect to voting and other important democratic acts,” said the Prime Minister. He pointed out that Poland supports all kinds of initiatives aimed at creating regulations between liked-minded countries in the scope of data sharing. “We believe that this can significantly reduce the gaps in economic development,” he added.

The role of international digital corporations

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki also talked about the role of large digital corporations He stated that “large digital corporations can be our allies and can help us e.g. promote democratic values. However, they are also monopolists and greatly affect many aspects of our lives, which is why the USA, the EU and other democratic countries should be careful and, if necessary, react appropriately,” he continued.

He emphasised that without such reaction, small and medium enterprises will be under such pressure that they will be unable to grow properly. In the face of global competition, we should cooperate to ensure an effective counterbalance for the increasingly strong technological position of giants.
