The government reacted swiftly to the announcement of the so-called alco-pouches. Prime Minister Donald Tusk immediately announced decisive and effective measures to protect children. Relevant legislation will be developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Health.
A danger to children
Alcohol and alcoholic beverages sold in packaging closely resembling children’s food were observed in stores. Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the issue ahead of the upcoming Council of Ministers meeting.
This issue raises concerns, and they are legitimate. This can impact the safety and health of our children,
the Prime Minister stated.
On his behalf, the competent officials immediately started dealing with the matter.
I have asked all the relevant officials to find ways to effectively combat this issue,
the Prime Minister announced in a recording published on X.
The Chief Sanitary Inspector reported that an audit is taking place.
Prompt action
Donald Tusk also announced that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would start working on regulations, which would curb the sales of such products, as well as measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
The Minister of Health will prepare a future-oriented law that will systemically eliminate such risks,
Donald Tusk announced.
The issue will also lead to further implications.
There is no room for any negotiation - this danger needs to be gone. People who have allowed this to happen can certainly expect consequences,
the Prime Minister added.
