Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: all the investments we make are investments in Poland's future

14.07.2023

The government cares about the development of municipal and district Poland. We connect all the regions of our country through investments that are close to the people. In this way, we create new jobs, build nurseries, libraries, fire stations, roads, bypasses, pedestrian crossings or children's playgrounds. We also provide modern equipment for hospitals and modernise schools. This is possible, among other things, thanks to the money we have recovered from tax fraud.

Levelling the standard of living in Poland

Thanks, among other things, to the Government's Local Investment Fund, we can help municipalities and districts so that Poland develops evenly. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited a nursery in the town of Łobez and the Municipal Cultural Centre with Library in Dygowo, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

“We want economic development not only in the big cities: Gdańsk, Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków or Wrocław, but also so that, for example, new jobs or new places in nurseries and kindergartens appear in Łobez,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed. “So that young people do not leave from here, and if they leave to study, so that they have a place to work here. This is our programme,” explained the head of government.

As the Prime Minister pointed out, the government wants all towns and villages in Poland to develop. “We want the prospects for life in villages such as Dygowo to be as broad and accessible as possible - developable for all generations,” he added.

The funding of many investments across the country, such as nurseries, kindergartens, libraries, fire stations, sports or cultural facilities, has been made possible by good government policies and the tightening of the tax system.

We support the development of local Poland

We want to equalise development opportunities for all residents of our country. That is why we try to help municipalities and districts so that they can make the investments that local communities need.

  • The Government's Local Investment Fund - provides funds for the reconstruction of local roads, the retrofitting of hospitals, the construction of nurseries or libraries.
     - Under the programme, more than PLN 13 billion has been allocated to the budgets of municipalities, districts and cities across Poland for investments close to the people.
  • Government Strategic Investment Programme - is a non-refundable subsidy for public investments made by municipalities, districts, cities and voivodeships throughout Poland.
     - Thanks to the programme, we support the sustainable development of our country. These include new roads, sports facilities, refurbished schools, renovated parks or water and sewage investments.
  • Support for former state-owned farm (PGR) municipalities - as part of the Government's Strategic Investment Programme, we also support former state-owned farm (PGR) municipalities and districts that were forgotten by previous governments.
  • Government Road Development Fund - this means safe, modern roads and road infrastructure.
     - Local authorities received funds that made it possible to carry out tasks on municipal and district roads.
  • Investment map - we have launched an interactive investment map where everyone can check what investments have been financed with public funds in their municipality - mapainwestycji.gov.pl.

City nursery in Łobez

As part of the “Maluch+” 2021 programme, a project concerning the creation of a public nursery in Łobez was subsidised. The total value of the project was PLN 1.3 million, while the funding from the state budget was PLN 990,000.

Municipal Cultural Centre and Library in Dygowo

The centre in Dygowo has been operational since 1 January 2023 and is a local government cultural institution. Its construction took nearly two years. It was made possible thanks to funding from the Government's Local Investment Fund of PLN 8.5 million. The centre creates and disseminates cultural and artistic values, as well as valuable forms of recreation, active leisure and spending free time. In addition, the library develops and meets the reading needs of local residents.
