24.12.2021
This year, Christmas Eve is very special for the people who are serving on our eastern border - dedicated to protecting their country and far away from their loved ones. During a meeting with soldiers and officers, the Head of the Polish government wished them a peaceful and quiet Christmas Eve thanked them for their commitment to defending the security, not only of the territory of the Republic of Poland but of the entire European Union.
- We are truly proud of your service, dedication, sacrifice – of the fact that our country, the citizens of Poland, can rely on you - stressed the Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki. - We are proud that you defend the territory, the uniform and the security of all Polish citizens.
The results of the actions undertaken by the government are already visible, as the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border with the European Union is now more stable. Numerous meetings held in recent weeks by the Head of the Polish Government have demonstrated support for our actions. Thanks to our firm response, many immigrants are already returning home. The construction of the barrier on the eastern border will also help to de-escalate the tense situation in this region.
Hope for the future
The soldiers, the Border Guard and Police Department officers are working tirelessly on our border.
As the Prime Minister stressed, addressing them directly: - We are fully aware that we can count on you. Every single Polish citizen is proud of you.
The Head of the Polish government left them with wishes of hope, with a better future and security in mind. Stabilisation of the situation on the border is, for many people, a real chance to spend the upcoming Christmas together with their families. - I would like to wish you all a peaceful, healthy, good and safe Christmas, filled with hope – concluded the Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki.
