Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki extended his wishes for the upcoming Christmas season

23.12.2022

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki extended his wishes on the occasion of Christmas. Christmas is often an opportunity to meet with long-lost relatives. It is also a time of selfless kindness, which we show to both family and strangers. In 2022, Poles demonstrated this - like no other nation - by helping Ukrainians who were fleeing the war.

Guests at the Christmas table

Many Poles will welcome guests from across our eastern border at their Christmas table. In 2022, we have repeatedly expressed our solidarity. We have opened our hearts and homes to those fleeing from Ukraine. Many people have volunteered to help our neighbours. Our support will certainly not be absent in the coming year.

"Our extraordinary help to our Ukrainian neighbours is something to be proud of," stressed the head of the Polish government. Helping another human being is one of the most beautiful manifestations of humanity. We wish that this Christmas be a triumph of unity and peace - in Poland, in Ukraine, in Europe and throughout the world.

Wishes for peace and tranquillity

"May this festive season be full of hope, full of goodness and love," wished the Prime Minister. "A healthy Christmas full of peace and tranquillity for all."

Despite the shadow of war and its consequences, we will sit down to eat with our loved ones. The plate that, according to tradition, we place for a wandering stranger will, in many homes, be dedicated to guests from Ukraine. Our year-round aid does not end with 2022. That is why it is so important at Christmas to take a rest that will help us gain strength for the challenges ahead.

"In the New Year 2023, we will all have to face the great challenges of our time. May we be able to meet them, always keeping the good of the Most Prominent Republic of Poland in mind," said the head of the Polish Government.
