Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: I believe in a Poland of little homelands
01.09.2023
Thanks to the government's good economic policy and the funds we have recovered from tax fraud, we can take care of the development of local Poland. In this way, we link all the regions of our country together. In order for municipalities and districts to develop, we implement investments that are close to the people. These include new jobs, the construction of crèches, kindergartens, libraries, roads, bridges, footbridges, pedestrian crossings or children's playgrounds. We are also modernising schools and providing modern equipment for hospitals.
We help municipalities and districts to equalise the standard of living in Poland
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the investment site in Kruszwica, where reconstruction of national road no. DK62 is underway. The investment is financed by government funds.
As the Prime Minister stressed, small towns like Kruszwica deserve big investments. Just like larger centres, they should have a chance for long-term development. “ We are doing everything to attract new investments here. What do we need for this? To believe that cities like Kruszwica, Inowrocław and Strzelno also have their great potential,” stressed the head of government.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasised that through major investments, the government strives for a situation in which it is work that seeks man, not man that seeks work. “This is the development model we are proposing,” said the Prime Minister.
The co-financing of many investments in Poland, such as crèches, kindergartens, libraries, fire stations, and sports or cultural facilities, was made possible by good policy of the government and the sealing of the tax system.
Government supports the development of local Poland
We want to equalise development opportunities for all residents of Poland. This is why we aim to help the municipalities and districts so that they can implement the investments that their local communities need.
- Government Fund for Local Investments – funds for the reconstruction of local roads, the retrofitting of hospitals, the construction of crèches or libraries.
- As part of the programme, more than PLN 13 billion has been allocated to the budgets of municipalities, districts and cities across Poland for investments that are close to the people. - Government Strategic Investment Programme – a non-returnable subsidy for public investments implemented by municipalities, districts, cities and provinces throughout Poland.
- Thanks to the programme, we are supporting the sustainable development of our country. This includes new roads, sports facilities, refurbished schools, renovated parks, as well as water and sewage investments. - Support for municipalities with former state-owned farms – as part of the Government Strategic Investment Programme, we also support municipalities and districts with former state-owned farms that were forgotten by previous governments.
- Government Road Construction Fund – it means safe, modern roads and road infrastructure.
- Local governments received funds that enabled them to implement tasks relating to municipal and district roads. - Investment Map – we have launched an interactive investment map where everyone can check what investments have been financed with public funds in their municipality - mapainwestycji.gov.pl.
In addition, thanks to the amendment to the so-called Budget-Related Act for 2023, local governments will receive further support of nearly PLN 14 billion later this year. Local governments will make their own decisions on the use of the additional money.
