Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Investments Close to the People in the Warmian-Masurian Province

29.04.2023

Poland is one. We want to connect all regions of our country through investments. With this, we create new jobs, build roads and pedestrian crossings, provide modern equipment for hospitals and modernize schools. Through the activities we undertake, we want to make residents' dreams come true. This is also a fundamental task for the future.

We are Levelling the Standard of Living in Poland

- There are no towns too small for investments. Our government has paid special attention to those towns that are far away from large agglomerations, which must also be given a chance to develop, the prime minister said. He visited investments that were financed with government funds - the renovated historic administrative and cultural building in Bartoszyce and the construction of a Water Treatment Station in the town of Blanki.

The government subsidizes many investments across the country. These include new roads, hospitals, upgrades and thermal efficiency improvement of schools, new fire stations, cultural institutions, playing fields, sports facilities, pedestrian crossings and roundabouts. These investments are just the beginning. We strive to make Poland's development even more equitable and balanced. So that it is a place to live in for all those who want to work here, educate themselves, start families and raise children.

Investments for People - this is the Direction the Government is Taking

- Our government is a solidarity-based government, focused on social justice and on increasing opportunities for economic development in every corner of Poland. We will continue to do so,” the head of the government stressed.

We want to equalize development opportunities for all residents of Poland. That's why we're trying to help municipalities and counties so they can make the investments that the local communities need. This way, we connect all regions of Poland with each other, without dividing the country into better and worse, richer and poorer parts. Our activities include, among others:

  • Government’s Local Investment Fund - funds for redevelopment of local roads, retrofitting of hospitals, erecting nurseries and libraries.
  • Government’s Strategic Investment Program - non-refundable subsidy for public investments that are implemented by municipalities, counties, cities and provinces throughout Poland.
  • Through the program, we are supporting the sustainable development of Poland. These are new roads, sports facilities, renovated schools, renovated parks or water and sewage investments.
  • Support for the municipalities that used to have communist-era state-run farms - as part of the Government's Strategic Investment Program, we also support the municipalities and counties that used to have communist-era state-run farms.
  • Government Road Development Fund - it means safe, modern roads and road infrastructure.
  • Investment map - we have launched an interactive map of investments, where anyone can check what investments have been financed with public funds in their municipality - mapainwestycji.gov.pl.

Construction of a Water Treatment Station in Blanki

The technology used at the new water treatment plant will provide water of good quality and at the right pressure for all residents. This is a strategic undertaking for the municipality in terms of security in drinking water supply. The investment will primarily relieve the burden on the Kraszewo treatment station, which serves 15 towns. As a result, it will contribute to improving the well-being of the municipality's residents. The investment was subsidized by the Government's Strategic Investment Program.

Renovation of the Historic Administrative and Cultural Building in Bartoszyce

Government aid has helped restore the building's splendor. The monument was successfully renovated with support from the Government's Local Investment Fund. The building dates back to 1902 and is listed on the Register of Immovable Monuments as a monument of the highest artistic, historical and scientific value in the world, which can be considered a monument of history.
