Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: thanks to investments, economic growth will be faster and sustainable

Investing in infrastructure is not an unnecessary expense, but the best investment in the comfort of life of residents and improving safety. It is also an increase in tourism and economic development opportunities. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the grand opening of the ring road road in Smolajny on the national road No. 51 in the Warmian-Masurian Province. This is the first investment from the 100 Ring Road Construction Program that has been handed over and open to drivers. It provides for the construction of 100 ring roads with a total length of approximately 820 km throughout Poland. The government will allocate PLN 28 billion for the implementation of this program.
– This is our consistent program - safe Poland, strong Poland, close to the people - said the Prime Minister. He added that programs like this are investments that respond to the challenges of today's times. Thanks to them, economic growth will be faster, more sustainable and just.
Development of the country and improvement of safety
– This road map is a map of our progress. We can clearly see new entrepreneurs coming to new poviats and communes following the new roads, continued Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Construction of city ring roads will ensure the effective functioning of passenger and freight transport on the roads. It also means improving road safety and the quality of life of the inhabitants.
Improving road capacity is one of the key elements that may increase the dynamics of development of both the regions and the entire country. Through easier, faster and cheaper flow of goods and services.
PLN 28 billion for the 100 Ring Roads Construction Program
Improving safety, diverting heavy traffic away from congested cities, cleaner air, less noise and improving the capacity of the road network - these are the main objectives of the 100 Ring Roads Construction Program. As part of this program, 100 ring roads with a total length of approximately 820 km will be constructed throughout Poland. The government will allocate PLN 28 billion for its implementation. The program will also contribute to the creation of new jobs and the development of companies performing road investments.
The program includes ring road projects at various stages of preparation. The selection of ring roads to construct was carried out taking into account traffic volume, safety conditions, improved accessibility of connections with neighboring countries and the need to maintain the sustainable development of the country.
Ring Road of Smolajny - about the investment
Two months ahead of schedule, almost 2 km of the Smolajny ring road was made available for traffic on the national road No. 51. This is the first ring road constructed under the government's Program for the construction of 100 ring roads for the years 2020-2030. Thanks to the ring road, there will be less traffic in the center of town. Driving comfort as well as the safety of travelers and residents will improve.
The investment included the extension of the road in the existing and partially new track. Additional roadways were built to service the adjacent areas, a pedestrian and bicycle route, sidewalks, two bus bays and pedestrian crossings.
