Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took part in the Polish Armed Forces Day celebrations

Every year on 15 August, we celebrate the Polish Armed Forces Day. This date commemorates the Battle of Warsaw, also known as the Miracle on the Vistula. In 1920, the Polish army stopped Soviet troops, preventing their aggression against Europe. On the anniversary of the decisive battle of the Polish-Bolshevik war, the head of the Polish government took part in the Ceremonial Guard Briefing in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The prime minister attended the Memorial Appeal and laid a wreath on the slab of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. During the ceremony, the president nominated generals and handed out national medals. The head of the Polish government also laid flowers in front of the monument to Marshal Józef Piłsudski.
Battle of Warsaw
In August 1920, the Polish army held off the Russian invaders. To commemorate this victory, we celebrate the Polish Armed Forces Day. This is a celebration of our soldiers, but also of all of us. The official celebration took place in Warsaw at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw. The Prime Minister took part in the ceremonies, including the Ceremonial Guard Briefing.
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Remembering those who died for the freedom of our country is extremely important, especially on a day like this. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a commemoration of those who died fighting for Poland's independence. It is located in the surviving part of the Saxon Palace at the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square in Warsaw.
