The Conference of Polish Ambassadors is a regular annual meeting of Polish diplomats. This year, it gathered 107 participants, including 10 chargés d'affaires. This year the guest of honour will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs.

In addition to outlining the priorities of Polish foreign policy, the head of government thanked the diplomats for their work so far: “It is thanks to your activity that the voice of Poland is heard today and that good things are said about Poland in all the languages of the world.

International situation

For more than two years, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we have been struggling with changes to the way we live. The war in Ukraine, inflation pressure, Russian blackmail related to the access to raw materials, potential famine – these are all challenges that Polish diplomacy has to face.

The head of government stressed the need for decisive response to Russia’s actions – the Polish position is clear: there is no going back to business as usual for us. There is no going back to the time before the 24th of February. Russia must pull out.

Poland as an ambassador of Ukraine

We are constantly working for the benefit of Ukraine. We are the main ambassadors of Ukraine in the European Union. The Prime Minister emphasised the commitment and efforts of Polish diplomats also in this area.

In the international arena, Poland actively works towards granting Ukraine EU candidate status as soon as possible. “It is very likely that Ukraine will be granted candidate country status in an accelerated manner,” informed the head of Polish government.

Role of Polish diplomats

The Prime Minister stressed how important are actions aimed at raising public awareness and fostering European solidarity.

“Russia is terrified of this cooperation between Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania, Baltic countries, of this restoration of Poland’s position in the international arena,” summed up the head of Polish government.

“Let’s not waste it. We are facing major threats but also incredible opportunities which may create positive prospects for Poland for the decades to come,” he added.
