Prime Minister: The Polish Deal aims to let Polish entrepreneurs take Europe by storm
31.07.2021
“This year, the Polish economy will develop faster than what earlier forecasts had shown – maybe even at a level of 5%. Next year we will exceed 5% growth. This is an excellent environment for the dynamic development of Polish entrepreneurs and companies”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to a transport company in Źródła, Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. During his visit, Mr Morawiecki also visited a Respite Care Nursing Home construction site in Wrocław, where he thanked everyone involved in its construction.
Numerous companies saved by government assistance during the pandemic
The pandemic has left its mark not only on the Polish economy but also on the economies of the entire world – and continues to do so. While this was a major crisis for many companies, the rapid assistance provided by the government – e.g. the Anti-crisis Shield programmes – has helped protect many an entrepreneur from bankruptcy.
“Seventeen months ago, Poland – and before it, the whole world – was hit by a completely unusual crisis. It struck like a bolt from the blue and forced all companies to fight it. The transport company Trans-Dan based in Źródła near Wrocław struggled with enormous issues as well. Then came the state with several million złotys in aid provided under the Financial Shield programme. This aid was used to maintain employment. Thanks to this, the company can quickly return to the path of further economic development”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. “The Polish Deal aims to let Polish entrepreneurs take Europe by storm. Just like this company that we have saved from the crisis. As such, it can now spread its wings and operate across Europe”, he added.
Trans-Dan is a family-run company with 100% Polish capital. Its business profile includes transport and logistic services for industrial customers. Facing dire straits during the pandemic, Trans-Dan took advantage of government assistance offered under the first Shield programme. Not only did the funding received help save jobs, but it also enabled the company to settle its current liabilities.
In total, Polish companies received over PLN 237 billion under the Anti-Crisis Shield and Financial Shield programmes.
Prime Minister: our taxes are among the lowest in Europe
“I am very pleased with Poland’s tax composition; with the CIT reduced to 9%, it is one of the lowest in Europe”, said Prime Minister Morawiecki; “there are maybe two or three other countries with such a low tax level”, he added. “All this creates an excellent environment for business development”, PM Morawiecki emphasized.
As indicated by Prime Minister Morawiecki, the above conditions create a perfect space for Polish companies and entrepreneurs to thrive in. Moreover, Poland is at the EU’s forefront when it comes to low unemployment and has remained in the top three since 2020. In June, Poland’s unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points compared to May 2021
Construction of a Respite Care Nursing Home in Wrocław
A Respite Care Nursing Home is being constructed at Wrocław’s Sołtysowicka street. The Nursing Home will have appropriate facilities to provide free temporary care for disabled and seriously ill children and youth. During his visit, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki thanked everyone who contributed to its establishment:
“Caring for our loved ones – children, youth, the elderly, who found themselves in dire health circumstances is a measure of our humanity”, said the Prime Minister. “I would like to thank all caretakers for the love, kindness and compassion shown to our beloved children, both here and elsewhere in Poland. I thank Mrs Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka for being a ‘good spirit’ watching over this initiative and inspiring everyone to support it. I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who offers his or her time, attention, dedication and love to anyone in need”, he added.
Parents or guardians may not always be able to take care of their children on a daily basis, e.g. due to an accident, hospitalisation, or the need to rest or take care of everyday affairs. The Respite Care Nursing Home is meant to assist them in taking care of their loved ones. It will be the only such centre in the entire western part of Poland.
