EU-wide support for Ukraine’s independence

This visit aims to confirm the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and present a broad package of support for the Ukrainian state and society. The Polish PM has assured that our country stands firmly by Ukraine.

– The European Union must very quickly grant candidate status and invite Ukraine to join the European Union – stressed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom and independence but defends fundamental European values.

It is a fight for all of us

Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński indicated that Ukraine is fighting for all of us. – It is a fight for this civilisation, which is the most kind to people in the history of the world – emphasised Deputy Prime Minister Kaczyński.

At the same time, he urged for a courageous attitude and decisions. It is necessary to ensure Ukraine’s effective defence – and thus the security of the eastern flank of the European Union and NATO.

Reaching out to the conscience of Europeans

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appealed to the conscience of all Europeans and people of goodwill around the world. Europe without Ukraine will not be the same. Europe without Ukraine will be a symbol of failure and weakness. We all together cannot allow this to happen.

Humanitarian aid is our fundamental duty. We have much greater capabilities, we can, we want, and we must offer Ukraine more. Therefore, during the meeting, the Polish PM gave details of the aid financed from the European Union budget. He once again called for strengthening sanctions. – Is your comfort, citizens of the European Union, more important than the bloodshed of children here in the heart of Ukraine? – asked the Prime Minister.
