At the request of the American side, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has had a telephone conversation with the Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris. The main topic of the conversation was the problems affecting the world energy sector, which has a direct impact on the economies of many countries.
It is becoming increasingly necessary to search for new energy sources and develop energy sources, including nuclear power, in countries such as Poland. Prime Minister Morawiecki stressed that his government was making a detailed analysis of the options available in this area, including both the construction of a large nuclear power plant and the development of so-called small modular nuclear reactors. The U.S. Vice President announced her readiness to share American experience in this area.
Vice President Kamala Harris also referred to her visit to Poland in March this year and thanked our country for its great commitment to helping Ukraine as well as its excellent cooperation with many of its allies.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Vice President Kamala Harris agreed that the last few months had made the Polish-American strategic partnership stronger. President Joe Biden's decision to establish a permanent military presence in Poland is testimony to this.
