The Prime Minister at Nurzec-Stacja: the Polish Police give people a sense of security at the highest level

05.09.2022

The Government is allocating funds to local investments important for residents. Support for the municipalities and towns that were forgotten and marginalised a dozen or so years ago is bringing tangible effects today. Poland is coming closer to its citizens in every way. This can be seen in the availability of uniformed services in less populated areas of the country, for example. We put the safety of the Polish people in the first place. That is why we have built or rebuilt 154 police stations. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has visited the municipality of Nurzec-Stacja, where he met with residents and the local police in front of the new police station. The Government is consistently investing in local uniformed services by rebuilding police stations, investing in Volunteer Fire Brigades and subsidising the State Fire Service.

Officers of these formations are on the front line of helping and protecting the Polish people

”We live in very troubled times, and today this closeness of the citizen to the Police, to the internal services, is very important. Therefore, we are investing in measures to ensure that the services, as well as the Police, are as well equipped as possible. That goes for the Border Guard, Volunteer Fire Brigades and the State Fire Service too. These are extremely important services that ensure the safety of the Polish people”, the Prime Minister emphasised.

The police are part of everyday security

”My dream is for no one to have to leave the place where they were born, so that everyone could live where they were born – they should also be educated there, work there, if any Pole should wish to do so. That is why I would also like to use this meeting here to thank our Police, our services, for caring about our sense of security”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

New roads – meaning faster communication, new schools – give our children better prospects, while new police stations mean a daily sense of security. This is how we create conditions for development in municipalities throughout Poland. We make sure that every Pole feels good in his or her home, in his or her municipality, in his or her city.

An ambitious budget for 2023

We are consulting with the Polish people regarding the suitability of the draft budget law for 2023, adopted by the Council of Ministers. The government has consistently increased revenues by effectively filling gaps in public finances, taking measures such as closing the VAT gap. This enables us to implement many programs addressed to the needs of the Polish people.

In the 2023 budget, the necessary funds have been secured for the continuation of the existing priority actions, as well as for the implementation of new ones including:

  • social programmes,
  • valorisation of pensions and the 13th pension,
  • defence measures
  • health care
  • road construction and repairs.

Russian aggression against Ukraine, rising raw materials prices as well as the COVID-19 pandemic are having a negative impact on the state of the economy in many countries around the world. In this difficult time, the Government is supporting the Polish people by cutting taxes or the implementing its Anti-Inflation Shield. Despite this worldwide crisis, the Polish economy is in a stable condition. We anticipate that, in 2023, U.S. state budget revenues will amount to approx. PLN 604.4 billion, an increase of almost 110% compared to 2015.
