Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited the logistics and service centre at Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, a key hub in the process of providing aid to Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggression. The Polish Prime Minister and the Ambassador of the United States to Poland met with Polish and American soldiers stationed in Poland. He also spoke with the commander of the United States Forces and the commander of the POLLOGHUB.
Organised aid for Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has been raging for more than two years. Poland has been supporting its neighbour since the first days of the Russian aggression, which has been made possible thanks to the Rzeszów hub. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that the fate of Poland, Ukraine, Europe and the entire free world, including the United States, hinges upon the operations of the Polish hub.
“I want to remind all Poles and everybody in Europe that thanks to Rzeszów, thanks to your work and your commitment, we are able to deliver aid to Ukraine every day in the safest and most efficient way possible,”
said Prime Minister Tusk at the Rzeszów hub.
POLLOGHUB in Rzeszów is responsible for ensuring that military and humanitarian aid from around the world reaches Ukraine. The great cooperation with our allies and Ukrainian representatives ensures that aid is reaching the embattled country as quickly as possible.
“Ukraine survived the initial Russian onslaught and sooner or later it is going to win the war, thanks in part to the Polish and American soldiers, uniformed services, as well as all the people who built this hub here in Rzeszów-Jasionka. Every day, you are taking part in one of the largest logistical and military operations in European history since World War II. I cannot overstate the importance of the work you are doing here,”
said the Prime Minister.
Mr. Tusk thanked the Polish and American soldiers and staff supporting the Ukrainian war effort through their service.
Polish-American cooperation for Ukraine
The Prime Minister also addressed the US forces, saying that their actions showcase their commitment to the tradition of defending freedom and independence.
“We are all working together to support Ukraine. I am indeed grateful for your work and your support. All Poles appreciate the fact that you are here with us. I hope that you will stay as long as possible,”
the Prime Minister stated at the Rzeszów-Jasionka hub.
This excellent partnership was also highlighted by the Ambassador of the United States to Poland, Mark Brzeziński. The Polish military in Rzeszów is supported by around 1,000 American soldiers.
“In 2024, our cooperation in terms of defence can only be described as very good. There are many Ukrainian soldiers training here in Jasionka,”
said Ambassador Brzeziński.
This year marks two important dates - the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the NATO, as well as 25th anniversary of Poland’s admission to the Alliance. Ambassador Brzeziński pointed out the crucial character of this decision from the standpoint of Poland’s security. Thanks to NATO, Poland is safe and stronger.
