The 13th "Poland, the Great Project" Congress was an opportunity to take stock of the international situation and debate on sovereignty in its broadest sense. At the opening of the Congress, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the geopolitical situation in the region and security in Europe. On Saturday – the second day of the Congress – the head of the Polish government took part in the presentation ceremony of the Polish President Lech Kaczyński Award. This year's laureate was the Polish draughtsman, painter and stage designer Janusz Kapusta.

"The concept of sovereignty is one that, more than in debate, is forged in battle. It is forged by action. And it is precisely as a nation, as people who have fought for sovereignty, that we realise it comes at a price," stressed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

13th "Poland, the Great Project" Congress

It is the largest gathering of conservative experts, opinion leaders and politicians in Poland. As part of this year's edition, panellists discussed topics in the areas of geopolitics, the impact of Russian culture on Western Europe, the condition of universities, reparations and sovereignty. The congress is an excellent opportunity to reflect on current events. It was another edition filled with debates.

At the opening of the Congress, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki gave a brief summary of the current geopolitical situation in the region and security in Europe.

"Only a Europe that is strong, aware of its heritage, and faithful to the values that made it great can survive today's historical turmoil. Only such a Europe will survive," said the Prime Minister.

Winner of the Polish President Lech Kaczyński Award

In 2011, the organisers of the "Poland, the Great Project" Congress established the Lech Kaczyński Honorary Award. It is awarded to outstanding Polish artists whose works contribute to a better knowledge and understanding of the history, tradition and present-day life of our country.

"The laureates of this great award are the exponents of a modern, contemporary understanding of patriotism and sovereignty. And now all the previous winners of this award – whom I would also like to thank from this place for their wonderful life's work – are joined by another outstanding laureate, master Janusz Kapusta," congratulated the head of the Polish government.

This year's winner is the inventor of an eleven-sided geometric solid, called K-dron. Since 2016, this solid has been given to the award winners as a statuette.

"Mr Janusz, I want to thank you for making the name of Poland known all over the world and for being among those who seek and help others to seek what is most important in life – goodness, truth, justice, freedom, sovereignty," said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
