Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, participated in the informal meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers convened in Prague by the Czech Presidency. The topics of the meeting included safeguarding food security and the role of agriculture and food industry of the European Union in sustainable global food production.

Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik met with Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 3rd session of the UAE-Poland Joint Economic Commission.

On 6-9 September 2022, Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik participated in the official visit of Mr. Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, in Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire (CIV) and Senegal. The main issue of the visit was food security in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

On the sidelines of the 19th International Dairy Cooperatives Forum, the meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary was held today, on the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk. Mr. Janusz Wojciechowski, the EU Commissioner for Agriculture, also took part in the event.

"The future begins today: shaping the post-pandemic order" was the subject of the plenary session of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk. Deputy Prime Minister Kowalczyk and EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, among others, also participated in a debate entitled 'Food security as the foundation of the European and global order'.

Today, Secretary of State Rafał Romanowski mat with Loo Choon Yong, Singapore's visiting ambassador to Poland, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Ryszard Bartosik participated in Polish President Andrzej Duda’s visit to Africa. First, the Polish delegation went to Nigeria. An essential highlight of the visit to Abuja by Deputy Minister Ryszard Bartosik’s signing of a memorandum on Polish-Nigerian cooperation in agriculture.

“I am concerned about the attitude of European countries to the solidarity corridors for the transport of Ukrainian cereals,” Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said in Karpacz.

Today, on the sidelines of the Economic Forum in Karpacz, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Development, met with Mr. Mykola Solskiy, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The main topic of their talks was the plan to prepare a project to build a pipeline for transport of plant oils from Ukraine to the Port of Gdańsk.
