Trade relations between Poland and Ukraine in the agri-food sector were the main topic of the meeting between Minister Czesław Siekierski and the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland Vasyl Zvarych. Director General Bogusław Wijatyk also participated in those talks.

On 29 January, the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Bogusław Wijatyk received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Poland Ole Tofta. The meeting was devoted to the Polish-Danish cooperation in the field of agriculture and to the discussion on the participation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development management’s representatives in the visit of the Danish Royal Couple to Poland.

In Brussels, a meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) was held, attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski. The main topics of the meeting were trade-related agricultural issues, strategic dialogue on the future of agriculture in Europe and the regulation establishing a monitoring framework for resilient European forests. Poland also submitted for debate a proposal for a new regulation on autonomous trade measures (ATM). This was the first meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries under the Belgian presidency.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski is in Brussels, where he participates in the meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH). Yesterday, he met with the EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis. He also talked with representatives of Copa-Cogeca on the participation of Polish agricultural organisations in transnational organisations representing their interests toward the European Union.

Apart from the Green Week fair, Berlin hosts concurrently the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture. This-year theme of the Forum is “Food Systems for Our Future: Joining Forces for a Zero Hunger World”. Poland was represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski.

Today, on the second day of the Grüne Woche fair in Berlin, the Polish food stands are visited by crowds of people. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski visited the Polish stands, promoted Polish food and talked with the Polish exhibitors. Today, the Minister of Agriculture also participated in a ceremony organised on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the presence of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship at the fair.

Today, at the background of the Grüne Woche (Green Week) fair taking place in Berlin, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski discussed with the Ministers of Agriculture of Moldova, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania and Uzbekistan on the perspectives of cooperation with Poland in the area of agriculture.

The international fair considered the leading event in the agri-food sector in Europe – the Green Week (Grüne Woche) started in Berlin. Polish delegation to the fair is headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski.

On 15 January this year, an online meeting was held between Czesław Siekierski, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Krzysztof Hetman, the Minister of Development and Technology, and Valdis Dombrovskis, the EU Commissioner for Trade, regarding trade in agricultural goods with Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by Michał Kołodziejczak and Adam Nowak, Deputy Ministers of Agriculture, and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Development and Technology.
