07.04.2022Prime Minister meets with local government officials: I am very grateful and encouraged by the way our cooperation is progressingThe eyes of the world have been focused on Ukraine, which was brutally attacked by Russia, for six weeks now. This is the time of a great mobilisation and unified action of the Polish government, local authorities and thousands of Poles. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, more than 2.5 million refugees have already arrived in our country. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with local government officials from Polish cities to discuss the current situation. The Head of the Government thanked them for the support and kindness offered to the Ukrainian refugees. He also promised further government support. Around half a billion Polish zlotys have already been transferred to local governments.

Zbigniew Rau will host the members of the Contact Group for the Crisis in Ukraine established within the frameworks of the League of Arab States, after their visit to Moscow. The delegation is going to be chaired by the Secretary General of the LAS, accompanied by the foreign ministers of Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Sudan.

05.04.2022Prime Minister discussed aid to Ukraine with UK Foreign SecretaryThe main topics discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss were issues concerning aid, humanitarian support and European security. This is another meeting with representatives of the country's authorities on aid to our eastern neighbour. The last one took place in March 2022 and concerned, among other things, strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries in connection with the situation in Ukraine. The Prime Minister stressed that the unity of the West and cooperation of the entire free and democratic world are now more important than ever.

It was the second such meeting this year - the first took place on 7 March. The main topic of the talks was aid for refugees from war-torn Ukraine. The topics discussed included the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations, the current humanitarian and military situation in Ukraine, and the documentation of Russian war crimes. The meeting also discussed US President Joe Biden's visit to Poland and the implications of existing and possible initiatives to support Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion.

The issue of cybersecurity and combating disinformation was raised as well. The second part of the meeting was attended by the Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša and a representative of the Czech Prime Minister. PM Morawiecki thanked for Google’s commitment to donate to help refugees.

26.03.2022Head of the Polish government meets with the President of the United StatesPrime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with President of the United States Joe Biden. His visit to Poland took place immediately after the NATO and G7 summits and the European Council meeting in Brussels. This is yet another recent visit of American authorities to our country. The Head of the Polish government and the US president discussed the possibility of continuing the coordination of the international community's response to Russia's unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine. The talks focused on strengthening the comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, including humanitarian aid.
