List and Characteristics of Diets Used at the PIM MSWiA
Starting from January 1, 2012, it is mandatory to conduct a nutritional screening assessment for every patient upon admission to the hospital. This requirement applies to all hospital wards except for emergency departments (ED). Each patient's medical record must include an evaluation of their nutritional status, documented by completing the NRS 2002 questionnaire.
Additionally, the hospital information sheet should contain a notation, provided by a doctor or dietitian, specifying the recommended diet for the post-hospital period.
The diets listed below are the most frequently prescribed in the Clinics and Departments of the PIM MSWiA. However, in all other cases, special diets tailored individually for specific patients can and should be employed, prepared by a dietitian. It's important to note that the sample daily portions and menus outlined in the attached descriptions are not intended as rigid models and should be discussed on an individual basis with the attending physician or dietitian. The hospital designations for the diets (e.g. I, II, S5, V) are solely used as a "contractual" notation for the purposes of hospitalization at the PIM MSWiA.
