On 12 October 2023, on the initiative of Poland as well as an interregional coalition built by our country and consisting of Botswana, Bangladesh, Morocco, South Korea, Panama, Rwanda, and Slovakia, the UNESCO Executive Board decided during the ongoing 217th session to establish the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

A draft regulation amending the regulation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the establishment of voting districts in the 2023 parliamentary elections for Polish nationals abroad has been published at www.legislacja.gov.pl. The draft stipulates the liquidation of the voting district in Tel Aviv.

During a session of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Special Rapporteur Lord Richard Keen presented the report Reparation and reconciliation processes to overcome past conflicts and build a common peaceful future – the question of just and equal redress. The report calls on Council of Europe member states to enter into dialogue with the countries they had been in conflict with in the past.

On 9-10 October 2023, Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA Wojciech Gerwel visited Oman. The purpose of the visit was to attend 27th ministerial meeting of the EU Joint Council and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

In connection with the events in Alkmaar that bear the hallmarks of discrimination against citizens of the Republic of Poland on the part of policing service and representatives of local government, on 7 October 2023 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Exactly one year ago today, on 3 October 2022, the Government of the Republic of Poland submitted a diplomatic note to the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, demanding compensation for losses suffered by Poland as a result of German aggression and occupation during the Second World War.
