National Reference Laboratory for Atmospheric Air Quality
The main task of the National Reference Laboratory for Atmospheric Air Quality is to supervise the quality of atmospheric air tests carried out within the framework of the State Environmental Monitoring programmes. This task is carried out, inter alia, by organising inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency tests, reviewing measuring stations and quality assurance and control systems, coordinating the proper application of reference methodologies and demonstrating the equivalence of non-reference methodologies, standardising testing and measurement methods and procedures, implementing new testing methods. The National Reference Laboratory for Atmospheric Air Quality participates in and supports the work carried out by the European network of national reference laboratories AQUILA, which ensures the maintenance of a coherent quality policy in air monitoring networks across the European Union.
