The amendment to the Prosecutor's Office Act and changes in the status of judges appointed at the request of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) after 2018 were key topics discussed during the plenary session of the Venice Commission on October 12, 2024. During the session, two opinions were issued with comments and suggestions regarding the draft law separating the functions of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General, as well as possible ways to regulate the status of so-called "neo-judges."

Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar participated in the meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) on October 11, 2024.

During the meeting on October 10, 2024, Deputy Minister of Justice Dariusz Mazur emphasized Poland's commitment to restoring the rule of law in discussions with Denmark's Minister for European Affairs, Marie Bjerre.

Deputy Minister of Justice Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz, along with a Polish delegation, visited the Norwegian Courts Administration in Trondheim to discuss cooperation and future joint initiatives between the Polish Ministry of Justice and Norwegian partners. In addition to the Deputy Minister, the delegation included Judge Agnieszka Matysek from the Department of Family and Juvenile Affairs and Tomasz Gajewski, Deputy Director of the Department of Funds and Free Legal Aid.

On September 1, 2024, a ceremony took place at Westerplatte to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, along with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and members of the Council of Ministers. This event honors one of the most tragic moments in the history of Poland and the world. The participants paid tribute to the victims of the war and all those who fought for freedom and independence.

"The key challenge before me is to build the trust of Polish citizens in state institutions. Democracy and the rule of law in Poland will be as strong as its institutions are," said Deputy Minister Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz, who represented the Polish justice system at the European Forum Alpbach conference.

During the second session (August 22, 2024), the team responsible for selecting candidates for the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment selected three candidates for this institution. They are, in alphabetical order: Dr. Ewa Dawidziuk, Marta Jakubowska, and Przemysław Kazimirski. The candidates were selected by vote. Their names will be forwarded by the delegation of the Sejm and Senate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and then to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

During her visit to Norway, Deputy Minister Maria Ejchart visited the Correctional Services Western Region Offices in Bergen. The discussions focused on coordinating efforts to support the Polish Prison Service by Norway and implementing joint initiatives aimed at improving working conditions and the well-being of officers, which could be financed by Norwegian funds.

– I would like to thank the House of Representatives and all members of Congress for their cooperation and support for the reforms being carried out by the current government in Poland, – said Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar during today's (August 9, 2024) meeting with a delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Justice at the request of the American side.

"It is a significant fact that we can meet today on August 6, the anniversary of the tragic events that took place in 1945," said Minister Adam Bodnar during a meeting with Minister Koizumi Ryuji. This was a reference to the 79th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Bartłomiej Ciążyński, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice, also participated in the talks.
