Director Pawel Ukielski opens the exhibition "Warsaw Uprising 1944" in Johannesburg

The ceremonial opening of the exhibition "Warsaw Uprising 1944" took place on 7 September 2024. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria in cooperation with the Warsaw Uprising Museum and the National Museum of Military History in Johannesburg.
The occasional speeches were given by the Director of the National Museum of Military History, Allan Sinclair, the Polish Ambassador Adam Burakowski and the Director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum Paweł Ukielski. The exhibition consists of 23 panels, documenting the military, political, historical and human aspects of the fight for independence during the 63 days of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. Several panels are devoted to the participation of South African and Allied pilots in the Warsaw Uprising. The exhibition will be part of the permanent exhibition at the National Museum of Military History. The opening of the exhibition was attended by about 200 people.
