Farewell to Jerzy Sadowski

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria regrets to announce that Mr. Jerzy Sadowski, a well-known and respected Polish community activist, long-term president of the Polish Diaspora Union in Pretoria, one of the founders of the Polish Heritage Foundation in South Africa, died at the age of 86 on August 10, 2022. Father and grandfather. Colleague and friend. Patriot, friend of Poland and Poles.
The death of Mr. Jerzy Sadowski is a huge loss for the local Polish community. The shining star on the map of the Polish diaspora in South Africa, its guide and visionary, has gone out.
Fr. Radosław Szymoniak celebrated funeral ceremonies in the church of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Pretoria on August 24, 2022.
Jerzy Sadowski's last journey was attended by numerous people, family and friends. Consul Michał Gierwatowski participated in the ceremony on behalf of the Embassy.
