Heritage Day celebrated nationwide on 24 September is one of South Africa's most beloved and popular holidays. Various events are organized throughout the country, which are an important element of education and promotion of the protection of national heritage.
Heritage Day is a special celebration that is closely related to the awareness of citizens. Celebrating this day, South Africans emphasize the importance of the heritage of many cultures, the wealth of beliefs and traditions, as well as the unique diversity that make up a unique contribution to building a democratic country.
This year, a lot of emphasis is placed on the "intangible cultural heritage" of South Africa, which includes orally passed down from generation to generation cultural content such as: customs, views, beliefs, ways of thinking and behaviour, social norms recognized by the nation as socially important for its present and future.
Ambassador Andrzej Kanthak and the employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria express their best wishes to the citizens of South Africa on the occasion of the Heritage Day.
