The ninth edition of Maciej Płażyński Prize

The ninth edition of Maciej Płażyński Prize awarded for journalists and media serving Polish diaspora has been announced. Applications can be submitted by 12 March 2020.
The prize will be awarded in 4 categories:
- Polish journalist,
- national journalist publishing on Polish-diaspora themes,
- a foreign journalist publishing on the subject of Poles, Poland and the Polish diaspora,
- editorial office of the Polish medium.
The prizes in each of the three journalistic categories are: a statuette and a financial prize in the amount of PLN 10,000, while the prize in the editorial category of the editorial office of the Polish medium is a statuette.
The winners in each category will be selected by a jury, which includes journalists dealing with international issues, representatives of Maciej Płażyński's family and the Emigration Museum in Gdynia.
Applications can be sent by 12 March 2020 until midnight (Polish time) using the on-line form on the prize page.
Important! - All persons and institutions submitting the applications, please pay attention to point 3 of the prize regulations: "The prize is awarded every year for journalistic work in the previous year". This means that the jury is not able to award prizes for the so-called entirety or publications in previous years.
The award ceremony will take place in May/June 2020 at the Emigration Museum in Gdynia.
The Prizes' Council consists of representatives of the Maciej Płażyński family, the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk, the Mayor of Gdynia, the President of the City of Sopot and the Press Club Poland. The organizer of the Award is Press Club Poland.
