The 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Polish Association in Cape Town was celebrated solemnly on 23 November 2024.

The Polish Association in Cape Town celebrates its 75th anniversary

The event was moderated by Krystyna Zajączkowska. Occasional speeches were given by: President of the Association Danuta Cieśla, Consul of the Republic of Poland Robert Rusiecki Tatiana Salomon who represented the Polish Association of Siberian Deportees in South Africa. A congratulatory letter on the occasion of the anniversary written by the Speaker of the Polish Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska was also read. The event was attended by over a hundred people - members of the Association, representatives of the Polish diaspora and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria. The Association was established in 1949 and has been operating continuously and actively for 75 years. The Association's task is to build a community and cultivate the tradition of the Polish language, preserve national heritage and culture, and bring them closer to future generations of Poles and foreigners.
