28.03.2023

On March 21-23, 2023, Ambassador Buzalski visited Kigali, where he participated in a geotechnical seminar organized by the Pietrucha Group and in the launch of a pilot street lighting project by LUG.

The seminar was attended by over 70 representatives of Rwandan engineering institutions, to whom representatives of the Pietrucha Group presented the offered technology through multimedia and in practice. For the purposes of the presentation with Rwandan engineers, the Polish company brought some of its products: sheet piles, geogrids, anchors and retention mats. The fact that the vinyl and hybrid products of the Pietrucha Group are made of recycled plastic made a great impression, because the Rwandan authorities signal strong ambitions in the use of green technologies in the country. The seminar was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure of Rwanda, Ernest Nsabimana, and the mayor of Kigali, Pudence Rubingisa.

Representatives of the LUG company held meetings with the Minister of Infrastructure Ernest Nsabimana and the Minister of ICT Paula Ingabire, as well as with the mayor of Kigali Pudence Rubingisa. In addition, a system of 20 luminaires was installed, tested and commissioned on a stretch of approximately 500 meters on one of the main streets in the Gikondo district in the central part of Kigali, which was carried out together with the mayor Pudence Rubingisa, the vice-mayor Merard Mpabwanamaguru and numerous representatives of the municipal office, the Ministries of Infrastructure and ICT. The presentation was flawless, and the calculation of the savings that will be obtained by the city of Kigali and the ability to intelligently manage the system from the application on a computer or phone made a great impression on the representatives of the Rwandan authorities.

Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski participated in all the above-mentioned meetings and presentations of both Polish companies.
