07.08.2024
The World Esperanto Congress, held in Arusha from August 3-10 this year, brought together over seven hundred seventy Esperanto speakers from various parts of the world. The opening of this unique event, aimed at promoting international understanding and cultural exchange, was also attended by a representative of our mission – Deputy Consul Krystyna Fatyga.
More than twenty people from Poland participated in the Congress. During the opening ceremony, speakers emphasized the role of Esperanto as a tool that connects people beyond national, linguistic, and cultural boundaries. They also highlighted the significance of the World Esperanto Congress as a platform promoting the idea of unity and cooperation – values dear to the language's creator, Ludwik Zamenhof. Congress participants, representing various countries, were encouraged to uphold these ideals, which form the foundation of the Esperanto movement. The event, whose opening was also attended by Deputy Consul Krystyna Fatyga from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, was not only an opportunity to forge closer ties among its participants but, above all, a forum for discussing the role of Esperanto in building global understanding and solidarity.
