[Update: 23.09.2020] Partial resumption of visa service at the Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam

The consular section of the Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam has restored the possibility of registering some visa applicants - in particular students - in the e-konsulat system.
Restoration of visa service applies to – among others – students, as well as other categories of persons described in detail below.
Please bear in mind that we accept new visa applications for National (D) visas and for Schengen (C) visas only if you belong to one of the categories of persons who are allowed to enter Poland at the moment.
All visa appointments should be booked and visa applications should be registered and filled-in via the e-konsulat system. The scope of documents required in the visa application remains unchanged – for more information see: https://www.gov.pl/web/tanzania-en/visas
The consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam is open for visa applicants from Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in accordance with the appointment dates fixed through the abovementioned e-konsulat system.
Please appear at our office on time, as visa applicants will be allowed to enter our office strictly according to the schedule. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant if (s)he misses the scheduled appointment. No earlier appointment dates than those fixed via the system are possible.
All visa applicants are kindly asked to follow some sanitary recommendations:
- mouth and nose covering (mask)
- hand disinfection
- maintaining distance between clients
- undergoing body temperature control on entering the Embassies’ facilities
Categories of persons authorized to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland (in case of crossing the external EU border):
• Polish citizens,
• foreigners who are spouses or children of citizens of the Republic of Poland or remain under the constant care of citizens of the Republic of Poland,
• holders of a Pole's Card,
• heads of diplomatic missions and members of the mission's diplomatic and consular staff, i.e. persons having a diplomatic rank and members of their families,
• people who have the right of permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Poland or a work permit,
• foreigners who run a means of transport designed for the transport of persons or goods, and whose transit takes place as part of their professional activities consisting in the transport of goods or persons,
• citizens of European Union Member States, European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) Member States - parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and their spouses and children, when traveling through the territory of the Republic of Poland to their place of residence or stay,
• pupils and students receiving education in the Republic of Poland,
• foreigners who fly an aircraft within the meaning of Article 2 item 1 of the Act of 3 July 2002 - Aviation Law, onboard an international law who are the citizens of: Georgia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Tunisia, the Commonwealth of Australia or hold a right of residence in the territory of the aforementioned countries,
• foreigners who arrive due to their participation as a competitor, member of the training staff, medical doctor, physiotherapist or a referee in international master league sports events organised in the territory of Poland by an international Olympic or Paralympic sports federation or other body recognised by the International Olympic Committee or organised by an international continental sports organisation being a member of such federation, as well as accredited journalists, after presenting the Border Guard with a proof of the competition, the date and the nature of participation with an appropriate letter issued by the organiser of such sports event or certified by the relevant Polish sports federation,
• persons who cross the border of Poland based on national visa for the purpose of repatriation in order to arrive in Poland as the repatriated person’s closest family member,
• foreigners with a permanent residence permit or a long-term resident's European Union residence permit, in the territory of other European Union Member States, a Member State of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) – parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and their spouses and children, when traveling through the territory of the Republic of Poland, to their place of residence or stay.
The following persons are exempted from the obligation to quarantine when entering the territory of the Republic of Poland (in the case of crossing the external border of the EU):
- aircraft crews;
- seafarers, fishermen and other crew members of sea and inland waterway vessels, as well as ship servicemen and inspectors of recognized organizations, including:
- seafarers or fishermen returning from abroad, also by other means of transport other than a ship, after termination of employment on board,
- seafarers or fishermen residing outside the territory of the Republic of Poland leaving the ship in a Polish port after the expiry of the period of work on the ship for the purpose of immediate repatriation referred to in art. 57 of the Act on work at sea, outside the territory of the Republic of Poland,
- seamen or fishermen going to a port situated on the territory of the Republic of Poland, also by means of transport other than a ship, to take up employment without delay on the ship,
- persons performing work or providing services on ships or offshore mining and drilling platforms, based on a relationship other than a seafarer's employment contract;
- crew members referred to in the Act of 21 December 2000 on inland navigation (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1568, 1901 and 2170 and of 2020, item 284), including those returning from abroad by means of transport other than a ship for the purpose of receiving rest referred to in the Act of 7 April 2017 on working time on inland waterway vessels (Journal of Laws item 993);
- crew members of a vessel in regards the sea safety regulations
- persons performing in Poland or a neighboring country work related to the preparation or implementation of investments in the scope of the terminal within the Act on investments in the field of the regasification terminal for liquefied natural gas in Świnoujście, strategic investments in the field of transmission networks within the Act on the preparation and implementation of strategic investments in transmission networks or strategic investments in the oil sector within the Act on the preparation and implementation of strategic investments in the oil sector;
- drivers performing road transport as part of international road transport or international combined transport;
- drivers performing road transport as part of international road transport or international combined transport within the provisions of the Road Transport Act, including drivers returning from abroad or passing through the territory of the Republic of Poland in transit by means of transport other than the vehicle used for road transport:
- with the purpose of resting on the territory of the country of stay,
- after resting abroad;
- train crews and other employees necessary to perform freight transport services as part of international rail transport, performing professional activities in Poland or a neighboring country, on the basis of a list enumerating the persons provided by the carrier;
- drivers performing road transport of motor vehicles or combinations of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight not exceeding 3.5 tons in the road transport of goods and non-commercial road transport of goods;
- drivers performing road transport with vehicles intended for the transport of more than 7 and not more than 9 persons, including the driver in commercial international road transport of persons;
- persons crossing the border for the purpose of work on a farm which is located on both sides of that border;
- soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland or soldiers of allied forces, officers of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service and State Protection Service, performing official tasks;
- members of diplomatic missions, consular posts and representatives of international organizations and members of their families, as well as by other persons crossing the border on the basis of a diplomatic passport;
- citizens of the Member States of the European Union, the Member States of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) - parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and their spouses and children;
- students receiving education in the Republic of Poland;
- for the purpose of traveling through the territory of the Republic of Poland to the place of residence or stay by foreigners with a permanent residence permit or a long-term resident's European Union residence permit, on the territory of other Member States of the European Union, a Member State of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) - parties agreements on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and their spouses and children;
- persons sailing in recreational vessels between ports of European Union Member States and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Member States - parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, without calling at ports of third countries;
- students, participants of post-graduate studies, specialist education and other forms of education, as well as doctoral students studying in the Republic of Poland;
- by scientists conducting scientific research or development works in the Republic of Poland;
- by an aircraft performing an international flight from an airport located on the territory of:
a) Montenegro,
b) Georgia
c) Japan,
d) Canada,
e) the Republic of Albania,
f) Republic of Korea;
21. by citizens of the Republic of Poland.
