Piano concert by Jan Krzysztof Broja and the exhibition "Mom, I don't want war!"

On March 15, 2023, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam, in cooperation with the Embassy of Germany, organized a piano concert performed by the outstanding Polish pianist Jan Krzysztof Broja and presented the Polish-Ukrainian exhibition "Mom, I don't want war!" in connection with the recent anniversary of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The concert began with the presentation by Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski of the invited artist and the program of the concert, which included works by Frederic Chopin, Karol Szymanowski and Michał Kleofas Ogiński as well as Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms. In connection with the recent anniversary of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Ambassador Buzalski also encouraged the guests to see the exhibition "Mom, I don't want war!" presenting contemporary drawings of Ukrainian children.
Jan Krzysztof Broja is one of the most outstanding European pianists, participant of the 13th Chopin Competition in 1995, who won many awards at international piano competitions, incl. in Hanau in Germany (1989), Braunschweig in Germany (1991), Bucharest in Romania (1995), Warsaw (1995), Vilnius in Lithuania (1999) and Pasadena / Los Angeles in the USA (2002). In 2009, he was nominated as the first Polish pianist in Los Angeles for the highest music award, the Grammy Award of the American Phonographic Academy.
The artist is also known for his involvement in several important television and cinema film productions. The most important of them is Broja's work for the film "The Pianist" (2002) directed by Roman Polański, awarded with three Oscars and a Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Jan Krzysztof Broja also recorded the piano part on the soundtrack to several other important cinema works, such as the film "Tatarak" (2009) directed by Andrzej Wajda.
The event was attended by numerous ambassadors and representatives of local business and artistic circles.
