Piano concert on the 210th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin

As part of the celebration of the 210th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin, the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam organized, in cooperation with the Embassy of Germany, a piano concert performed by an outstanding Polish pianist Jan Krzysztof Broja.
The concert began with Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski recalling the character and work of Chopin and presenting the achievements of the invited artist.
Jan Krzysztof Broja is one of the most outstanding European pianists, who has won many awards at international piano competitions, incl. in Hanau in Germany (1989), Braunschweig in Germany (1991), Bucharest in Romania (1995), Warsaw (1995), Vilnius in Lithuania (1999) and Pasadena / Los Angeles in the USA (2002). In 2009 he was nominated as the first Polish pianist for the highest music award, the Grammy Award of the American Phonographic Academy in Los Angeles.
The artist is also known for his involvement in several important television and cinema film productions. The most important of them is Broja's work for the film "The Pianist" (2002) directed by Roman Polański, awarded with three Oscars and the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Jan Krzysztof Broja also recorded the piano part on the soundtrack to several other important cinema works, such as the film "Tatarak" (2009) directed by Andrzej Wajda.
During the concert, the artist presented: Nocturne in D flat major, Op. 27 No. 2, Nocturne in B major, Op. 62 No. 1, as well as the three Mazurkas, Op. 59 and twenty-four Preludes, Op. 28, which received a lively ovation from the audience. The event was attended by numerous ambassadors, high commissioners and representatives of local government and business circles.
