Poland is sharing its know-how in modern poultry farming and meat production with Tanzania

15.11.2024

As one of the leaders among EU countries in food production, including egg and the poultry production markets, Poland shares its expertise with Tanzanian poultry sector stakeholders. We believe that by sharing our expertise we may help to accelerate the development of the poultry industry in Tanzania to further advance the latter’s economic prosperity.

Innovative Technologies in Poultry Farming and Meat Production

The seminar on “Innovative Technologies in Poultry Farming and Meat Production” co-organized and co-sponsored by the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam and the Polish Association for Innovation in Agriculture that we have concluded on the 15th of November 2024 in Dar es Salaam gathered not only the representatives of Tanzanian authorities, including Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries of the United Republic of Tanzania, as well as Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), but most importantly the stakeholders directly involved in Tanzanian poultry industry, such as the representatives of the Registered Trustees of Tanzania Community Empowerment Association, the representatives of veterinary services, various Tanzanian associations of poultry and broilers farmers, poultry farm owners, directors and specialists from numerous Tanzanian poultry sector enterprises.

The Polish panelists who were sharing their expertise in the poultry farming and meat production, including their know-how about the newest trends, methodologies and technologies that are aimed at enhancing both the productivity and quality of goods generated by the poultry sector, were practitioners in the field, whose long experience in the sector was a real added-value to the seminar touching upon such topics as basics of veterinary care in poultry farming, feed production, poultry farming and slaughter and cooling process. We also encouraged the Tanzanian side to create producers' groups as a potential form of effective cooperation eg. in terms of organizing joint transport or joint usage of agrimachinery that could prove to be an interesting solution especially for small farmers. The seminar was accompanied by a B2B session.

The event reflects Poland’s commitment to advance our economic and business relations with Tanzania as well as to promote technological transfer between our economies.
