Rwanda received 300,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from Poland

On November 21, 2021, Rwanda received a donation of 300,000 vaccines against #COVID19 from Poland. The donation was received at the Kigali International Airport by representatives of Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Rwanda Charles Ngarambe.
The vaccines were donated under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The ceremony of handing over the vaccines at the Okęcie airport in Warsaw on November 19, 2021 was attended by Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Anastase Shyaka, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda in Poland, and Mr. Michał Kuczmierowski, President of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves.
In those difficult times for the whole world, Poland supports countries that need help. Handing over the vaccines is also an expression of solidarity and friendship that binds Poland and Rwanda.
By participating in the distribution of safe and effective vaccines against COVID-19 all around the world Poland supports the global fight against the pandemic: having secured doses of vaccines for its citizens, in a gesture of solidarity we share these resources with countries in need. So far our country has donated or resold around 14 million vaccines. The beneficiaries of our vaccine solidarity are, inter alia, Kenya, Egypt, Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Norway, Taiwan, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Vietnam, Bangladesh.
The organization of vaccines’ transport was possible thanks to the cooperation of the Embassy of Poland in Dar es Salaam and Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health and the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves.
