On September 25, 2020, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Dar es Salaam organized at the local Alliance Francaise a screening of "The Coldest Game" movie and the opening of the exhibition „ John Paul II – the Pope of Dialogue”

The Coldest game

The movie directed by Łukasz Kośmicki, received several international awards in 2019 and the Special Award of the 44th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. The exhibition was organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Pope John Paul II, which is celebrated this year.

The event was attended by Embassy’s staff including Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski and the Apostolic Nuncio in Tanzania, Abp Marek Solczyński, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the Polish community and our Tanzanian friends.

In his speech, Ambassador Buzalski referred to the Cold War period presented in the film and referred to two extremely important forces that overthrew communism in Poland: trade union “Solidarity” (40th anniversary of the foundation) and the pontificate of Pope John Paul II (100th birth anniversary).
