„Study in Europe” Fair and meetings with Polish diaspora in Rwanda

The Ambassador of Poland Krzysztof Buzalski and consul Joanna Kruze have accompanied the representatives of Polish top universities for talks on bilateral cooperation with H.E. Valentine Uwamariya, the Minister of Education of Rwanda and during the educational fair “Study in Europe” organized in Kigali and Musanze. It was also an opportunity to meet with Polish diaspora.
The EU Delegation has organized “Study in Europe” Fair on September 27th – October 5th 2022 in Rwanda. The event has brought the attention of a few hundred young people. Thanks to the interesting offer of six well-recognized Polish universities (Białystok University of Technology, Łódź University of Technology, Poznań University of Technology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Silesian University of Technology and Warsaw University of Life Sciences) Polish stands were the most popular among the students of the University of Rwanda in Kigali and the INES Ruhengeri in Musanze. The delegation was hosted by the Minister of Education, H. E. Valentine Uwamariya for bilateral talks on strengthened cooperation in the field of higher education.
Consul Joanna Kruze visited Polish sisters in Musanze. Their important initiatives (i.e. a kindergarten, health care for children with disabilities) support the local community since many years.
On October 1st 2022 the Polish Club in Rwanda has gathered to discuss the history of Poland. Vice-president Stanisław Gębala presented a lecture on the process of regaining the independence in 1918 and on the Battle of Warsaw 1920. Consul Joanna Kruze shared some details on how the today’s diplomatic work looks like. The Holy Mass was celebrated by fr. Tomasz Gdula, the Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Kigali. The honorary consul of Poland, Charles Ngarambe was also present for the Club’s meeting.
