Study visit of Tanzanian journalist Charles Makakala to Poland

On June 19-24, 2023, the well-known Tanzanian journalist Charles Makakala visited Warsaw, Lublin and Gdańsk as part of a study visit organized by our Embassy, the purpose of which was to show Poland's development success, support provided by Poland and Poles to fighting Ukraine and to show the mechanisms of Russian disinformation, as well as presenting the activities of Polish companies from the modern technology sector interested in cooperation with Tanzania.
In Warsaw, Mr. Makakala started with a visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, and then a meeting with a representative of the LUG company, who presented modern urban lighting systems. In the following days, he met with representatives of the strategic communication team at the MFA Spokesperson's Office and the Education Center of the Polish Center for International Aid, as well as at the headquarters of Caritas Polska, the Ministry of economic Development and Technology and the Polish Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he held meetings at Asseco Poland, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, the Warsaw University of Technology, and the Warsaw School of Economics. The journalist also had the opportunity to visit the National Museum, the Royal Castle and the Old Town.
Later in Lublin, the journalist had the opportunity to meet representatives of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and the "Study in Lublin" Program and visit the Majdanek Museum, the Lublin Castle and the Old Town.
In Gdańsk, Mr. Charles Makakala visited - accompanied by Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski - the European Solidarity Centre, the Artus Court, St. Mary's Basilica and the Old Town.
