Visit of Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski and Consul Katarzyna Sobiecka to Rwanda

On November 22-27, 2020, Ambassador Krzysztof Buzalski and Consul Katarzyna Sobiecka visited Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The purpose of the trip was to discuss a number of initiatives in the field of bilateral cooperation, including in the economic and consular areas.
The most important meetings included talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda Vincent Biruta on declared interest in further tightening cooperation with Poland, including in the economic field, as well as the Minister of Education of Rwanda Valentine Uwamariya, the Minister of Information Technology and Innovation of Rwanda Paula Ingabire and the Minister of Finance Uziiel Ndagijimana. The meeting at the Ministry of Education was mainly devoted to the subject of Rwandan students applying to Polish universities, while the meeting at the Ministry of ICT and Innovation served to identify areas where the Rwandan government would be interested in engaging Polish entrepreneurs in the field of information technology. The talks with the Minister of Mining of Rwanda Francis Gatare concerned the activities of the Polish company Luna Smelter, currently the largest tin processor in the region.
Ambassador Buzalski also visited the Luna Smelter plant on the outskirts of Kigali and Consul Sobiecka met with Poles living and working in Rwanda, including the President of the Polish Club Beata Shyaka.
