Today Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with Mr. Qu Dongyu, FAO Director-General, who is paying a visit to Poland on the occasion of the 33rd Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe.

Today Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, met with Mr. Mark Brzezinski, US Ambassador to Poland.

Undersecretary of State Krzysztof Ciecióra visited the SeaFood Expo trade fair in Barcelona, which is one of the major events in the fish sector.

Today Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, held talks with Mr. Mykola Solskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Mr. Rafał Romanowski, Secretary of State, and Mr. Paweł Niemczuk, Chief Veterinary Officer, also participated in the video conference.

Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, participated in the Polish-Slovak intergovernmental consultations which were held in Vyšné Ružbachy (Slovakia). The event was chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries.

Undersecretary of State Krzysztof Ciecióra participated in the meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council which took place in Luxembourg.

With the participation of Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik, at the seat of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARMA), the representatives of Poland, Lithuania and France signed the agreement on the establishment of the consortium which would carry out a twinning cooperation project in Serbia.

Today, Mr. Henryk Kowalczyk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, held talks with Mr. Mykola Solskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Mr. Rafał Romanowski, Secretary of State, responsible for the coordination of food aid issues at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, also participated in the meeting. The meeting was convened on the initiative of Ukraine.

Mr. Hatem Tageldin, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Poland, was received by Mr. Ryszard Bartosik, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The purpose of their talks was to assess the status of the Polish-Egyptian cooperation in the field of agriculture and the prospects for its development.
