Construction of educational green zones in Schools of a good climate project completed
01.02.2024
Let's have a look at the Kozienice project
Schools of a good climate is one of 6 implemented projects in the call entitled Awareness raising activities on climate change mitigation and adaptation carried out by schools under the EEA Climate Programme.
The project implemented by Kozienice Commune carried out various investment and educational activities on the premises of two primary schools. There have been created new green areas, including eco-gardens, animal houses, and planted non-invasive plants and fruit trees. Also, the sensory and educational paths have appeared. Permeable paving was used to allow rainwater to be managed (see more on the project website). The implemented measures aim to raise awareness in the local community about mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
In spring 2023, work was completed on the construction of educational green zones next to the project schools. See how their surroundings have changed (link).
