P-TECC

The P-TECC summit in Warsaw will be co-chaired by Polish Minister of Climate and Environment Michał Kurtyka and U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm. The initiative aims at development of cooperation between the United States and the Central and Eastern Europe countries in the area of energy security, clean energy and climate-neutral energy transformation.

We are honored that Poland will be the host of the Summit and will jointly relaunch this important transatlantic initiative with climate action as a central theme. P-TECC is a forum allowing the exchange of best practices in energy security and the development of clean, advanced energy systems. It provides an excellent opportunity for the promotion of new initiatives and investments in energy infrastructure. I am convinced that it will allow us to have a fruitful discussion on what more we can do in our energy and climate cooperation

– said Minister of Climate & Environment Michał Kurtyka.

The U.S. Department of Energy is delighted to be re-launching the P-TECC initiative in Poland this month, with a clear focus on addressing the climate crisis as we unlock opportunities to deploy innovative clean energy technologies, create millions of good-paying jobs, and build stronger, more resilient energy systems. We are grateful to our partners from the Ministry of Climate and Environment and look forward to action-oriented discussions with ministers from throughout Eastern and Central Europe, as well as companies from the U.S. and Europe.

– said Andrew Light, U.S. Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy.

The two-day Summit will begin with a Business Forum, hosted in partnership with the Atlantic Council, which will bring together representatives of the biggest companies from the region and the U.S. to discuss challenges and opportunities in the energy sector. The second day of the Summit will be a high-level political discussion on energy and climate priorities with ministers from countries of the Three Seas Initiative, P-TECC Observer States and the European Commission. Discussions will focus on such areas as security of supply, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies.

The conclusions reached during the P-TECC meeting will form a ground for cooperation between the countries involved in the coming months.
