Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme - agreements concluded for the implementation of thermomodernization projects in schools in Warsaw

With the support of the Program, the Capital City of Warsaw will modernize 11 schools

Environment Energy and Climate Change Programme MF EOG #ENERGY

The Minister of Climate and Environment, with the support of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, as the Operator of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, decided to extend the ranking list in the call for proposals for Improvement energy efficiency in school buildings. As a result of the December 2022 extensions, 14 thermal modernization projects will benefit from Programme funds. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management successively concludes new co-financing agreements.

Among the new Beneficiaries of the Programme is the Capital City of Warsaw, which will carry out thermal modernization of 11 schools in Warsaw as part of two projects:

- Improving the energy efficiency of selected school buildings in the Capital City of Warsaw- scope 1 (more about the project), and

- Thermal modernization of 6 selected educational buildings in the Capital City of Warsaw - scope 2 (more about the project).

Thanks to the implementation of these projects, school buildings in Białołęka, Mokotów, Ochota, Targówek, Praga Południe, Wola, Włochy and Wawer districts will be less energy-intensive and more comfortable for students and teachers. Schools will be more environmentally friendly. In addition, the school community, in accordance with the Program rules, will take part in educational activities raising awareness in the area of energy efficiency.

Grant awarded is almost PLN 13 million. It is financed in 70% from the funds of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Programme, of which 85% comes from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) and 15% from the state budget.
