11.06.2024

The potential for industrialisation in the context of the energy transition and an ambitious climate policy were the topics of a meeting on 11 June 2024 at the Ministry of Climate and the Environment headquarters between Secretary of State Christopher Bolesta and Secretary of State and Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Jennifer Morgan.

Polsko-niemieckie rozmowy o industrializacji w warunkach zielonej transformacji

Minister Krzysztof Bolesta pointed out that Poland perceived the energy transition as an opportunity for Polish and European industry. Building competitiveness is based on innovative technologies that create jobs in our country, and energy security and a sustainable environment are created together.

It is crucial to shape the EU's climate policy in such a way that, by achieving its fundamental objectives, it strengthens the European economy, increasing energy security and competitiveness on the global arena,

- said Deputy Minister Bolesta.

The meeting also discussed the EU's ambitious climate policy and the upcoming Climate Change Conference COP29.

Public acceptance is crucial for the implementation of climate policy - the transition must be carried out in solidarity with the most vulnerable, effectively tackling the challenges of energy poverty and social exclusion,

- stressed the Deputy Minister for Climate and Environment.
